Deer Park – Quick  Report

Deer Park, and its predecessors, has been a nudist camp in this location for over 50 years. Even though you can see a major interstate highway a few miles away, it has a rural and rustic charm that turns back the clock and relieves the tension.  There are plenty of activities and amenities to keep you entertained, and very friendly management.   If you’re looking for luxury amenities and fancy restaurants you won’t be happy.  But if a naked day in nature – with lots of activities, or a naked weekend in nature appeals to you, we suggest you visit Deer Park.

The Location

Located in the foothills of the San Bernardino mountains at about 2500 foot elevation – Deer Park sits above the fog and clouds which can hang at lower elevations along the coast.  Summer comes earlier and stays later than in many other areas.    It’s at the base of the Cajon pass, so the winds occasionally blow, but if the day isn’t ideal to be nude outdoors, they have great indoor facilities and a secluded pool that’s heated all year long.
It’s within an hour drive of the San Fernando Valley, downtown LA and most of Orange County  and near several major freeways so it’s fast and easy to visit.

The Facilities

Deer Park offers lots enough recreation options to keep everyone happy.  There’s a huge pool surrounded by large tiered sun decks with lots of lounge chairs.  The pool is perfect for swimming and relaxing – but don’t plan to do that on a summer weekend!  That’s when the nude water volleyball games are played with high spirits and lots of fun, so come ready to play!   There’s also a large Jacuzzi by the pool to unwind after a few games.

Just below the pool area is a regulation tennis court and concrete volleyball court.  Pick-up games are encouraged.    Above the pool is the Tiki Bar area where snacks and cold drinks are served in the summer.  There’s a huge covered terrace and tables where you can escape the sun for a bit, but keep an eye on all the action around the pool.

There is also a smaller pool in a quiet location if you want a more serene environment.  This pool is heated all year long, so even in winter you can enjoy a nude outdoor swim in comfort.

The large Club House features a pool table, sauna, steam room and Jacuzzi where you can relax naked even when it’s cold and wet outside.  The residents of Deer Park are a social group so you’ll often find nude events including contests, cook-offs, football parties, holiday events and much more. 

Meals are available for purchase at the Tiki Bar and Club House most of the time, along with a wide choice of beverages.  Of course you can also bring your own and enjoy it at your leisure.  There are a number of restaurants a short drive away, but most of them are fast food, or family dining varieties so don’t come looking for gourmet adventures.

The resort covers 44 acres and is bordered by national forest land so there’s plenty of room for a nude hike, or even a bike ride around the grounds.    Afterwords, you can book a massage at the massage pavilion which is located near the larger pool.

There are several gardens and lawns built in memory of former club members, one of them an expansive lawn with weeping willow shade trees.

The Lodging

Deer Park can accommodate all types of visitors.  They have some scenic areas for tent camping with no hook-ups.  You can be under the trees right next to the small heated pool, or in an open area just steps from the big pool and action.   Several bath houses around the property offer hot showers and bathroom facilities.   If you’ve got an RV or camp trailer, there are paved sites with complete hook-ups ready for you to pull in and relax.   There are  even rental cabins and trailers where you just show up and check-in.    Rates are reasonable and with Deer Park about an hour drive from most of the Los Angeles area, it’s perfect for a weekend break.

Visiting

Deer Park welcomes day visitors, weekend guests, long-term visitors (winter sees lots of snowbirds coming to escape the cold).  They also have a number of full time residents who have well established homes on the grounds.   If you're a single, a couple, part of a naturist club, or just want to come with a group of friends, they're waiting to welcome you.
