If you like wide open spaces, clear desert mountain air, magnificent views an almost unlimited list of things to do nude in a warm, friendly crowd, DeAnza Springs is worth a visit.   It’s the largest nudist resort campground in Southern California, and the only neighbor is Anza Borrego State Park, DeAnza Springs so there’s lots of room for nude recreation and fun.

DeAnza Springs is a casual and laid-back environment where you can do as much, or as little as you want.  Whether you’re coming for a day, a weekend, a week or longer, you’ll find lots to enjoy at DeAnza Springs.

The Location

DeAnza is located in the high desert mountains about 60 miles east of San Diego.   It’s about an hour drive from most of San Diego, 2 ½ hours from Orange County and 3 – 3 ½ hours from LA.  An easy weekend break.  It’s well above the fog and clouds of the coast, but high enough to miss the searing desert heat found at lower elevations.  The setting is a quiet valley amid boulder strewn mountains that offer great scenery and some amazing hiking opportunities.    The natural landscape is cactus and scrub brush, a touch of the old west, just a short distance from the coast. 

Weather

Winters can be cool, with daytime highs in the lower 60’s and chilly nights.   But the sun is plentiful.   A large clubhouse and indoor pool offer gathering places and recreation in every season.  Spring and fall are the perfect mix of warm days and cool nights.  Summer days are typically in the 90’s, but there are lots of trees and shade, including a huge outdoor bar area.

The Facilities

What we love most about DeAnza Springs is how much there is to do.  Our first visit wasjust one day and we managed to enjoy:

• A 3 mile nude hike through amazing high desert scenery
• A few games of naked pool in the large clubhouse
• Horseshoes
• Naked basketball
• A nude game of tennis
• Naked shuffleboard
• And the highlight of the trip, 1 ½ hours of nude water volleyball in the indoor pool house.

And we didn’t even make it to the gym, use the free loaner bikes, visit the outdoor swimming pool and Jacuzzi, or check out the restaurant, bar or evening DJ dance party.

The recreation facilities are grouped in the center of the resort, with permanent trailers, rental trailers, camp sites, motel rooms and open space surrounding the central area.   The clubhouse has a full restaurant, cocktail bar, wide screen TV’s, computers with internet access, gift shop, lending library, pool tables, card tables and the resort office.  In summer the bar spills over to a huge covered patio overlooking the pool.

There are several bath houses around the property to cater to visitors.

There are plenty of tables and chairs scattered around the pool and lawns so you can choose a place that suits your mood and style and enjoy some nude rest and relaxation.

Events

There is a full event calendar with parties, dances, and fun on the schedule all year long.  Our favorite is the water volleyball that’s played every Saturday and Sunday at 10am and agin at 2pm.  The large, heated indoor pool is the setting and teams range from 9 to 15 people per side.  Everyone is invited to play, the attitude is friendly and the game play is great.  Lots of laughs, lots of exercise and a great feeling.   You can get the most up to date calendar of events at the DeAnza website. The Lodging

Everyone is welcome at DeAnza and can accommodate almost any type of day or overnight visitor.  They even offer a free pass for your first visit.  Click here to download yours.   There are traditional motel rooms where you can rent a room a short nude walk away from the recreation center, or a park trailer with a full kitchen, bedroom and living room so all you need is food and an appetite for fun.

There are full hook-up camping sites if you have your own RV or trailer, and dry camping sites for those with tents or self-contained camper vans.   Bath houses and showers are available nearby.   Rates are very reasonable and all camping / RV sites are close to the recreation center.  

You can also rent a permanent space and keep your RV or trailer at DeAnza.  We met quite a few people who have established second homes at DeAnza, and even some who live here year round.
